Alexandria Bay village officials are considering whether to seek a grant for a study of dissolving the village into the town of Alexandria. The study would examine the potential benefits and drawbacks of the change, including possible tax effects.
The estimated cost is between $40,000 and $50,000 through the Development Authority of the North Country, according to meeting minutes. Village officials plan to request more information from DANC and hear from taxpayers before deciding how to proceed. A joint meeting with the town is scheduled for Oct. 6.
