Voters in the village of Chaumont are expected to decide next month whether the village should dissolve. The referendum follows the filing of a petition with more than 100 signatures requesting the vote.
Lyme Town Supervisor Mark Zegarelli said he became aware of the issue about three months ago. He said questions arose after the village stopped collecting commercial recyclables, and he also cited concerns about codes issues and a lack of transparency.
