Massena Deputy Supervisor Sam Carbone called for improved roadside maintenance, citing concerns about wild parsnip, limited visibility and deer-related crashes along roads in St. Lawrence County. He also raised concerns about roadside conditions near the New York Power Authority substation and possible increased traffic connected to work on Snell Lock.
Massena Highway Superintendent Dylan Casselman said the town’s roadsides had been mowed once, with a second round underway. Brush-hogging had also been completed once, with another round in progress. Carbone urged officials to develop a consistent plan for roadside maintenance.
