Massena Police Chief Cody Wilson says 13 Flock cameras installed around the village are live-view cameras and do not use license-plate reader, automatic license-plate reader or facial-recognition technology.
Wilson said the cameras are replacing older cameras and are intended for real-time monitoring of public areas, officer safety and public safety. He also said the department is preparing an online transparency portal explaining the system and plans to share a link on social media.
