Ogdensburg is set to receive $799,569 in state funding for new playground equipment and a sports court, the governor's office said. The award is part of $4.6 million distributed among several North Country communities through New York Places for Learning, Activity, and Youth Socialization, or NY PLAYS.
The statewide program provided $67.5 million for 89 projects, including new playgrounds, expansions and renovations. NY PLAYS is part of the state's Unplug and Play initiative, which promotes outdoor activity and time spent with family and other people, the governor's office said.
