An Ogdensburg resident plans to submit a petition asking City Council to reopen the search for city manager before considering a new contract for Fonda Chronis. The resident raised the issue during a Sept. 28 council meeting and said the petition would be presented with collected signatures.
Chronis’ current three-year contract expires July 1, 2027. The contract’s annual salary rises from $140,000 in its first year to $150,000 in its third year, according to the report. The resident estimated that a three-year renewal would involve at least $450,000 in salary expenses, excluding any increase or additional stipend.
