By the ClickNNY North Country Desk
A Watertown man is scheduled to stand trial Sept. 21 in Jefferson County Court on three separate indictments tried together.
Court records identify the defendant as Richard Wagar, about 46. Two of the indictments charge second-degree burglary of a dwelling, a Class C felony; a third charges third-degree burglary. The cases also list grand-larceny counts, one involving a stolen firearm.
The lead case stems from a Feb. 22, 2025 incident. Wagar was arrested Aug. 13, 2025 by Watertown City Police and has pleaded not guilty to all three indictments. The case is before Judge David A. Renzi.
A trial date is a scheduled court appearance and may be adjourned or otherwise resolved before a trial is held.
Charges are allegations. Everyone is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
