North Country Pet Adoption Services plans to bring animals available for adoption to PetCo in Watertown during four events scheduled from October through December.
The events are set for Oct. 31, Nov. 7, Dec. 5 and Dec. 19, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.
North Country Pet Adoption Services is a volunteer-run, foster-based rescue registered with New York state as RR131. The organization operates without a central building, and its foster homes are in Jefferson and Lewis counties.
The group says its work includes helping local shelters with animals experiencing stress from being housed in cages and rescuing animals scheduled for euthanasia. Its adoption process includes submitting an application, meeting an animal and taking the animal home. Petfinder listings say meet-and-greets are arranged by appointment and that applications are submitted online first.
