The Town of Watertown’s tentative 2027 budget includes a proposed highway tax of $3.65 per $1,000 of assessed property value. The budget does not include a general tax, and the town is working to eliminate nearly $17 million in debt.
The highway tax would support road maintenance and snow removal, according to Town Supervisor Jim Wright. Officials are expected to refine the tentative budget before its Nov. 5 due date. The next meeting is scheduled for Oct. 15.
