Five Americans were among seven people killed when a helicopter carrying safari tourists crashed in Samburu County in northern Kenya, the U.S. State Department and Kenyan officials said.
The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority said the helicopter had six passengers and a pilot and went down while traveling from the Loisaba Conservancy to the Ewaso Nyiro area. The authority said an investigation into the crash was underway. The Kenya Red Cross said its emergency teams were part of a multiagency response at the crash site.
