Lewis County is scheduled to hold a public meeting Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Lowville Fire Department to gather input on plans for 25 miles of unused railroad tracks purchased by the county last November.
The county is considering a public trail extending from Lowville to Croghan and from Carthage to the northwest. Possible uses include walking, bicycling, hiking, motorized recreation and snowmobiling. The county manager said no final decisions have been made, and additional meetings are planned.
