Ogdensburg museum adopts Remington Museum of Art name
The Frederic Remington Museum in Ogdensburg has been renamed the Remington Museum of Art as its galleries expand beyond Frederic Remington’s work.
By the ClickNNY North Country Desk
The Frederic Remington Museum in Ogdensburg is now operating under the name Remington Museum of Art, reflecting a broader range of artwork in its galleries while continuing to feature Frederic Remington’s paintings and sculptures.
The museum also has received renewed accreditation from the American Alliance of Museums. The change and recent updates were discussed after Mayor Michael Tooley and Councilor Donna Trimm toured the museum July 30 with Executive Director Maggie McKenna. The updates include reinstalled galleries and new educational displays.
